How to Use Your Electric Bike
-
Quick Start & Safety Tips
Always wear a helmet – it’s the law and helps keep you safe.
Change gears as you ride – don’t stay in 1st gear with high assist.
Start smooth – begin on assist level 2–3, increase if needed.
Pedal with the motor – the bike is designed to assist you, not replace pedalling.
Use high assist wisely – best for hills or strong headwinds.
Look after the battery – switch the bike off when stopped or parked.
Respect the bike – no wheelies, stunts, or aggressive riding.
Share the road – follow road rules and ride courteously around others.
-
before you start
Do not hold the brakes while turning the bike on – the system will detect this and display a brake error. Simply release the brakes and restart the bike.
Do not engage the throttle when powering on – this can also trigger an error. Turn the bike off, wait a moment, then restart without touching the throttle.
Error messages are normal and protective – they prevent riding with brakes or throttle engaged. Restarting the bike correctly will clear the error.
If an error remains after restarting, switch the bike off completely, wait 10 seconds, and turn it back on.
Still unsure? Call us – we’ll talk you through it in seconds.

Turning it on
On the left-hand side of the handlebars, you’ll find a small grey controller with three buttons: Power, Plus (+), and Minus (–).
To turn the bike on, hold the Power button for 3 seconds until the screen lights up.
On the screen, you’ll see a number in the bottom-right corner – this is your pedal assist level.
0 = No assistance (the bike rides like a normal push bike).
Use Plus (+) to increase assistance and Minus (–) to reduce it.
-
Getting moving
We recommend starting at level 3 before going higher – these bikes are rear-wheel drive and can give a bit of a kick when you first set off.
Once you’re comfortable, you can increase the assist level as needed.
Higher assist = less effort, but more battery use.Important: Always change gears as you ride.
Just like a regular bike, shift up through the 7 gears as your speed increases.Riding in 1st gear with high assist will drain the battery very quickly.
With sensible gears and moderate assist, you can expect up to 80 km of range.
Using maximum assist the entire time may reduce this to around 60 km or less.Remember: you still need to pedal.
