HOW TO OPERATE YOUR E-BIKE
-
GOLDEN RULES
Always wear a helmet — it’s the law and keeps you safe.
Change gears as you ride — don’t get stuck in 1st gear with max assist.
Start smooth — begin on assist level 3, then go higher if needed.
Pedal with the motor — it saves battery and feels better.
Use high assist wisely — save max assist for hills or when you’re tired.
Look after your battery — switch the bike off when not riding.
Respect the bike — no stunts, wheelies, or aggressive riding.
Share the road — obey road rules and ride courteously around others.
-
before you start
1. Make sure your seat is adjusted to a comfortable height.
2. Remove the key from the bike and put it somewhere safe, you’ll need to remove the battery before boarding the Ferry if you’re going to Rotto!
3. Make sure the bike is stationary, the throttle is in the full forward position and the brakes are not engaged. This will ensure the bike starts up without any issues!
-
Turning it on
On the left-hand side of the handlebars, you’ll find a small grey controller with three buttons: Power, Plus (+), and Minus (–).
To turn the bike on, hold the Power button for 3 seconds. The screen will light up once it's on.
On the screen, you’ll see a number in the bottom-right corner — this shows your pedal assist level.
0 = No assistance (the bike works like a regular push bike).
Use Plus (+) to increase assistance, and Minus (–) to reduce it.

Getting moving
We recommend starting at level 3 before going higher — since it’s rear-wheel drive, it can give a bit of a kick!
Once you’re comfortable, you can move up to the higher levels. Higher levels mean less work for you, but they use more battery.
Important: Always change gears as you ride. Just like on a regular bike, shift up through the 7 gears as your speed increases. Riding in 1st gear with maximum assist will drain the battery very quickly.
With smart gear use and moderate assist, you can reach up to 80 km of range. On maximum assist the whole way, expect around 60 km — or much less if you don’t shift gears.
Remember, you still need to pedal.
